Kathleen M. Benton
Kathleen M. Benton is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Harrington, Foxx, Dubrow & Canter. Her practice focuses on general civil defense and insurance litigation.
Ms. Benton graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California in 2006 where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science, as well as a minor in Musical Theatre. Ms. Benton received her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2009, along with a certificate from the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution. While in law school, Ms. Benton served as a staff member and as a Note & Comment Editor for the Pepperdine Law Review, competed internationally at the 2009 Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria, and was the winner of the 2009 Vincent S. Dalsimer Moot Court Competition and received the First Place Petitioner's Brief Award. Ms. Benton is a member of the Order of the Barristers.
Ms. Benton is also the author of Can Copyright Law Perform the Perfect Fouetté?: Keeping Law and Choreography on Balance to Achieve the Purposes of the Copyright Clause, 36 Pepp. L. Rev. 59 (2008), for which she received Pepperdine's Sorenson Award for the Best Student Law Review Article in 2008.
Ms. Benton has been practicing in California since admission to the State Bar of California in 2009. She is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California.
